Description
‘American Non-Cooperation: When We Were Winning’ (1972-1985) is the fifth and final notebook/Study Guide in a curriculum and leadership series. The Social Justice issues focused on throughout this series for creative problem-solving are: racism, militarism, and economic (including sexist) exploitation. These interdependent issues were referred to as the Three Evils by Dr. King. The ‘Shadow Wars’ (1945-The Present/April 2018) is composed of 5 graduate level study guides/notebooks of collected readings with reporting on a 5 year original research study.
In ’American Non-Cooperation’ we celebrate the momentous social/political victories and the lessons still to be learned from our 20th Non-Cooperation Movements. They came to be known as the ‘New Left’ (e.g. civil rights, women’s, student and peace movements). The ‘Final Conclusions’ from this unique American project are included in chapter 2. It contains a blue-print (psychologically and politically) for transforming government in a way that enables us to fulfill our cultural role as a democratic leaders among nations.
Part B (1986-April 2018)
I was a professor for over 20 years at what came to be recognized as ‘one of the most militarized universities,’ Post 9-11. During this time I was asked (and refused) on three occasions to serve the military/intelligence community. My first rejection of ‘an offer you can’t refuse’ - to be a social scientist on a Human Terrain System team in Afghanistan - occurred while Edward Snowden was also living in the Honolulu area. When he fled in April 2013, I was writing, conducting research and educating professional audiences about the common and risky groupthink decision-making errors that historically plague high level government and corporate officials. In July, 2013 - a month after the ‘Snowden Revelations’ exposed the US government’s secretive and unconstitutional system of warrantless mass surveillance to a world-wide audience - I was blindsided with a violent Mass Surveillance abuse. In Part A (Notebooks 1-3/1986-April 2018) I share a good deal of original research data (video-journals, pictures and Field Notes) and what I’ve learned about overcoming unwarranted government intrusion and State Violence. The rise of Black Lives Matter, TimesUp/Me-Too and March for Our Lives is also highlighted.
